Help Get Hannah A Seizure Dog

Donation protected
I'm Hannah, I have Epilepsy, and I want to get a Seizure Response Dog to ensure my safety and independence!

Thank you so much for your support and contribution. Whether you decide to donate or not, please share this campaign with your friends and family.

My Story:

I was diagnosed with Epilepsy in 2014, after having three Gran Mal seizures in the course of 24 hours. Since then, I have controlled my seizures with daily medication. Then, I had four more seizures in August of 2017. Now, because I want to live independently, I would love a furry friend to support me and make me and my friends and family feel safe on my own.

Info About Seizure Response Dogs:

Seizure Response Dogs work for their partners by responding once a seizure happens. Some of the most common tasks a seizure response dog performs are:

- Break a fall to avoid head trauma
- Hit a button wired to turn off dangerous appliances in the home at the onset of a seizure
- Go to family members/teachers/roommates for help in case of an emergency
- Retrieve and/or carry neccesary medication on command
- Hold the person in a safe position for the duration of the seizure
- Provide guardianship/safety during a seizure
- Alert the public if there is a person with a medical condition

How do I see a service dog improving my daily life?

Most important of all, a service dog would provide me a sense of security in my daily independent life. I also believe a service dog would provide me with healthy companionship and emotional support. I know that pets can improve their owners mental health drastically. Additionally, I want to take care of a dog. I take the responsibility of taking care of a pet very seriously. I am committed to their health and enjoyment of life as much as I am about myself. Of course, I want a seizure response dog to respond and help if and when I have a seizure. I want a dog who can contact help and bring me my phone or emergency medication.

Where does your donation go?

The cost of training a service dog, in addition to finding and caring for a dog is very expensive. I want to invest in the best training and care for my dog and me as I can find. Therefore, your donations will go towards the complex and difficult training programs, as well as the initial care of the dog.

Thank you so much for your support and contribution. Whether you decide to donate or not, please share this campaign with your friends and family. I will be updating the page as the training process starts, and will continue to keep you in the loop!

Love, Hannah (and future doggo).
