Help Get Gary Home

As many of you know Gary has End Stage COPD. He was first diagnosed in 2012. He spent 3 weeks on a ventilator and was discharged home on hospice. He fought to come back and was discharged off of hospice care 6 months later. He was supposed to have a double lung transplant, went through all the testing to qualify, did indeed qualify and at the beginning of 2017 his insurance changed. This change kicked us back to a hospital that already denied us because of his age and he is too high risk according to them. They also wouldn't perform more then 1 lung transplant. He has been in and out of the hospital this year with pneumonia and most recently the flu. Each episode of pneumonia or illness or respiratory flare up will take more pulmonary function away from him. His lungs are paper thin. The infections no longer completely heal they are residing in the scar tissue of his lungs. It's no longer a question of "if" he will get another infection or reapiratory flare up it's "when." He is needing to go home on hospice care. His insurance is not wanting to pay for a bipap machine the doctors want him to go home on. We have been in the hospital for the past week. I have been here every day with him having to miss work. I have to take a FMLA to be home with him to take care of him full time. I don't have any PTO to cover this time off. We are starting this Go Fund Me to help him come home on hospice care, giving him the comfort of living the rest of his life at home with his family and to help offset daily expenses while I am off work.
