Help get Benji’s new wheels

Donation protected
Hi my name is Rachael, I am fundraising for my nephew to get a new wheelchair, which will give him more independence . Benji was born with an inoperable congenital heart defect, and one functioning lung, this is a life limiting condition, which affects his daily life.
Benji is a 11 year old fun and friendly little man . Please help us reach our £17000 target to pay for him a specialist wheelchair, which will enable him to have more independence, take himself out and take his chair over all terrains.
We are doing various fundraising events and this summer I am going to complete the coast to coast route, with my son (Benji’s 14year old cousin) ,  the route from St bees to Robin hoods bay is a total of 192 miles.

Please support us to help benji get his new wheels x

Update from Benji’s mum … Please share and donate if you can. We are trying to raise money to give my son the equipment he needs to enjoy life like any other child.
In 2012 my son was born with a unique heart defect, we tried lots of hospitals, but unfortunately everywhere we went told us his condition was inoperable and that we would have to let nature take it’s course. Due to his complex needs and how ill he becomes we were told he probably wouldn’t live past 1 year old. With daily medication, round the clock tube feeding, oxygen and the help of all those around him.
He has defied all odds and is now 11. We are so great full for every day,  We try to involve benji in everything, but his mobility is limited and he tires very easily, which ends up more often than not having to give him piggy backs or carrying him. This is getting harder as he gets older and I am struggling to do this the same. From his point of view he is going to high school in September and no one at high school wants to stand out or be carried or given piggy back by there parents !
This wheelchair gives benji the ability to go where he wants and to go over any terrain. Be it a walk on the beach with his family or going to meet his cousins this gives him the freedom to do it himself.
Thank you for reading and please help if you can.
