Help get Amber and Makayla Beattie on their feet

Donation protected

My name is Erin and I am the sister of Amber and Aunt to Makayla. On Friday, April 30th, at

approximately 5:00PM The Beattie family home was the subject of a devastating grease fire in the

kitchen which sadly forced everyone in the house to evacuate. Amber, Kayla, Fang and Fluffy were able

to get out of the house mainly unharmed except for some smoke inhalation.

*This gofundme was set-up by family members of the victims that are concerned for their welfare and well-being during this tragic time. We created this fundraiser with the most accurate information available to us at the time of posting and will be updating with more details as days progress.*

Due to the nature of the fire, the flame retardants and grease have caused substantial damage within the home and the time frame for restoration is not clear at the time of writing this. Hazmat will be assessing the damage caused this week. Furthermore, previous concerns of Asbestos have been discussed and at this point not a concern. However, the damage done remains.

Insurance will cover some of the costs for additional accommodations but details are still up in  the air regarding this.

Amber is a hard-working single mother of a teenage daughter, Boston-Terrier, and Kitten. She is an amazing human being with a heart of gold and often goes out of her way to help others. This is such an unfortunate event and it has left everyone displaced for the foreseeable future.

We are raising money in hopes to offset the cost of this tragic event as Amber and Makayla are left with no clothes, no personal belongings, and nowhere to live at this time. No one ever expects this type of thing to happen to them, and we are doing everything we can to help them get back on their feet.

Victims of fires are left with tremendous costs to replace a lifetime of belongings, not to mention the emotional stress and mental anguish of being without a home. We are hoping to alleviate some of the burden of this by reaching out for help. We know that nothing will be able to replace the priceless items and keepsakes within the home but anything we can do to help we will.

No one is ever fully prepared for something like this to happen, and to happen in the middle of a pandemic is truly tragic. We want to thank those in the neighborhood that stepped up to help out where they could when this event took place.

We want to thank everyone in advance for any contributions made. It is a small step towards rebuilding their life and I know that their family will appreciate it from the bottom of their hearts.
