Sinds begin maart heeft de hele wereld te maken met het Coronavirus. Ook in Georgië heeft de crisis genadeloos hard toegeslagen. Het reisseizoen was net begonnen, waardoor veel van onze gidsen, eigenaren van homestays, chauffeurs en hun gezinnen plotseling zonder inkomen kwamen te zitten.
Sindsdien is er weinig verbetering in de situatie. Wat het nog erger maakt, is dat veel van hen leningen hebben afgesloten om hun vervoer te upgraden of accommodatie te renoveren om uw verblijf comfortabeler te maken. Het toerisme in Georgië zat namelijk in een flinke lift. Gelukkig slaagden sommigen van degenen die een stuk land bezaten erin om groenten te zaaien en in afwachting van de komende winter landbouw te gaan doen. Maar, zelfs zij hebben flinke steun nodig om de komende periode door te komen.
Daarom hebben we besloten deze inzamelingsactie op te zetten om voedselpakketten of andere noodzakelijke benodigdheden samen te stellen. Voor het bedrag van 25 euro kunnen we 1 gezin helpen met een voedselpakket waar ze een week mee kunnen doen. Met dit bedrag kunnen we ook de noodzakelijke huishoudelijke artikelen voor ze aanschaffen.
Georgië heeft in de afgelopen 30 jaar te maken gehad met veel ontberingen, en heeft veel meegemaakt. De ineenstorting van de Sovjet-Unie, de ecoonomische crisis, een reeks burgeroorlogen en de recente Russische bezetting van Georgië in 2008. Ondanks deze tegenslagen is Georgië er altijd in geslaagd de rug te rechten. Met jouw hulp kunnen we ook deze crisis doorkomen!
Gedurende deze campagne zullen we updates sturen van alle gezinnen die we kunnen helpen, om ervoor te zorgen dat jouw donatie geheel transparant is en elke cent richting het goede doel gaat.

The whole world has been affected by the Corona virus since the beginning of March. The crisis has also hit hard in Georgia. The travel season had just started, suddenly leaving many of our guides, home stay owners, drivers and their families without income.
Since then, there has been little improvement in the situation. What makes it worse is that many of them have taken out loans to upgrade their transportation or renovate accommodation to make your stay more comfortable. Tourism in Georgia was in a big lift. Fortunately, some of those who owned a plot of land managed to sow vegetables and take up farming in anticipation of the coming winter. However, even they need a lot of support to get through the coming period.
That is why we decided to set up this fundraiser to put together food packages or other necessary supplies. For the amount of 25 euros we can help 1 family with a food package that will last them a week. With this amount we can also buy the necessary household items for them.
Georgia has faced many hardships over the past 30 years, and has been through a lot. The collapse of the Soviet Union, the economic crisis, a series of civil wars and the recent Russian occupation of Georgia in 2008. Despite these setbacks, Georgia has always managed to stand its ground. With your help, we can also get through this crisis!
Throughout this campaign, we will be sending updates from all the families we can help to make sure your donation is completely transparent and every penny goes to the cause.
