Help Gary and Robin Thompson Rebuild Their Home

Donation protected
First of all, I should have created this GoFundMe for my parents back in September when the fire demolished their property but asking for help doesn't come naturally for us, especially for them. Since they have applied and received some financial assistance through multiple county and private organizations including FEMA, we are now able to see that there is still a HUGE shortage in funds, so rebuilding isn't an option yet. Asking for donations from our friends, family, community, and strangers is now a must.
My dad Gary and stepmom Robin have lived on Hillockburn in Estacada Oregon since the late '80s. They owned and operated Estacada Metro Fence for many years and my sister graduated from Estacada HS. Their property consisted of a manufactured home,  shop and outbuildings. Unfortunately, their place was not insured and to some it may not have been the fanciest but they were proud to say they owned it and hand-built a majority of it. This was their home and it suited them perfectly.
We knew the Riverside Fire was starting to get close to their property but we honestly felt their house was safe. Then on September 8th, 2020 the fire quickly jumped from a level 1 to a level 3, forcing them to quickly evacuate.
They left behind everything except what they packed into a small suitcase and their 2 cats.
A few days later they found out that the fire had in fact reached their property, the aftermath left the majority of their place unrecognizable. My parents lost their home, vehicles, a tractor and riding lawn mower, tools and multiple irreplaceable items. This included my stepmoms jewelry, our family heirlooms and her father's Vietnam War memorabilia. My dads artwork, such as his hand-crafted metal and bronze sculptures and multiple wood carvings.
Their property held many childhood memories for my sister and I, our extended family, and countless friends. The shop was where my dad taught many, including myself, how to weld and to embrace our creative side. Their back acre is where my kids practiced driving a lawn mower and enjoying the country.
I know that starting over from scratch is going to be a long road but they are in dire need of getting started. The funds raised will help go towards the cost of replacing the septic system, all electrical and repairing the well. This is the foundation needed to get them back towards permanent housing.
My parents live within their means and have given to many without asking for much in return. Now is our time to help them, please contribute financially and or by sharing their story.
