Help Garrett Wagemaker Recover

On Friday afternoon, Garrett was helping cut down a tree  when he fell about 15 feet, breaking his back. Initially he had no control over his legs or feet. He had back surgery Friday evening. There was a burst fracture, one had exploded beyond repair and they had to clean out the debris, then fix the surrounding vertebrae, adding some rods and screws to help stabilize. They were being told he would likely be in a wheelchair the rest of his life. Late Friday night, early Saturday morning Garrett surprised us all, and started moving his toes! He has weak movement in his toes, feet, and legs from the hip. There is still a long unknown road to recovery ahead of him. Possibly 9+ months in a back brace, countless hours of physical therapy, and a long stay in inpatient rehabilitation.
