Help Fynn Allen and his family

On September 17th, Fynn and his dad, Ian, were hit by a lumber truck while in the car on the way to school. Ian walked away very sore, but Fynn unfortunately suffered a severe head injury. He was taken to Shands at UF, sedated and intubated, and admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit. He sustained a large fracture to the front of his skull and right temporal lobe, both orbital walls and sphenoid sinus. He has a severe concussion, on seizure precautions and sinus precautions (due to sphenoid sinus fracture), but structurally his brain is intact. The rest of his body was spared, and internal organs intact.
In the evening of his 3rd day in the PICU, he was woken up from sedation and his breathing tube was taken out. He has remained alert, and is making daily progress. His doctors (he has A LOT of doctors!) anticipate he will make a full recovery after inpatient physical therapy and occupational therapy. Full recovery time is still to be determined but it will be months. The rate at which he is progressing is on par with what they would expect with an injury like this; he has been so strong and brave from the start. He is such an amazing kid, but we all already knew that long before the accident.
Ian and Tessa have remained at Fynn’s bedside since he was admitted, both of them taking time away from their full time jobs to do so. Bills are inevitably are going to start piling up. That is where we come in!! I’ve set up this page in order to help ease any financial strain that they may face, so they can continue to focus on Fynn and his recovery.
