Help future Man of Morehouse with $1 donation

Hello, my name is Ivy Russell, a Phoenix native and a recent Morehouse College enrollee. I am reaching out to my community in hopes to secure $100k for college related cost & expenses from family, friends, neighbors and networks. As an academic scholar, I received several scholarships but unfortunately they do not cover the full college tuition in its entirety. Therefore, I am reaching out to you, my community; with a request of $1.00 from one hundred thousand (100k) people to assist with the remaining balance. As a teenager, I decided pretty early in my high school endeavours that I wanted to spend my post secondary years at Morehouse College. The Phoenix Union District HBCU tours created access for someone such as myself to see higher learning opportunities that went beyond my backyard. The tours left me enthusiastic and excited about my future. As a result, I buckled down, scaled academically and graduated in the top 10 percentile of my class with a weighted GPA of 4.0. My passion to be a part of the Morehouse brotherhood fueled my work ethic which came back full circle in achieving my goal of becoming a Morehouse man. Even with all of my efforts, the reality of the matter is that college is expensive and for private Universities such as Morehouse, the prestige mimics the cost. My short term educational goal is to obtain a business degree with an emphasis in finance and a minor in mathematics. My long term education goal is to participate in the business degree program through to the doctoral level. Securing a business degree with an emphasis in finance aligns directly with my career goal to start my own financial firm with a focus on helping middle class and low-income families with money management and investment skills. I was raised in neighborhoods that were predominantly low/middle income stricken and I saw firsthand the educational gaps between my community and other affluent communities as it relates to money management and investment opportunities. My commitment to you, as my supporters, is to operate a firm that will work to help fill that gap through education, support and resources which will ultimately yield small business investments and homeownership.
