ATTENCIOUN ALL GOOD ZYNNESTERS OF THE REALM!!

We come to you at this fateful hour with an urgent request! Unfortunately, a much-needed funding source did not come through for us this year, and we now turn to you - our amazing community - to help us bridge the gap to make Zine Fest Houston 2022 is a success!

This year the 2022 festival will be on Saturday, November 12, from 12-6 pm at The Orange Show Center for Visionary Art. It will feature local and regional zine vendors, workshops for all ages, lectures, and panel discussions.

From printing and shipping costs to festival and workshop supplies to making sure our collaborators and programmatic partners are paid fairly for their time and energy - ZFH costs money! To ensure we can commit to everything we want to manifest at this year's event, we have launched our official ZINE FEST HOUSTON 2022 GOFUNDME!

Donations will cover the festival and annual programmatic costs, including payment for our artistic and event collaborators, printing, shipping, administrative fees, workshop supplies, event rentals, food and drink, and to support the shane patrick boyle Memorial Grant for Emerging Zinesters. Please see below for a more detailed list of festival expenses.

About Zine Fest Houston
Zine Fest Houston (ZFH) is an organization and festival dedicated to promoting zines, comics, and other forms of independent press projects. The festival is free to attend and offers affordable vendor space for creators who publish, distribute, and promote alternative DIY media. In addition, it is the only event in Houston that provides a platform for emerging and established zine makers to exchange work and create meaningful relationships that lead to productive collaboration.

ZFH has three primary missions: To provide affordable and accessible vendor opportunities to zine makers and indie presses, raise the profile and awareness of zine making as a community-based practice with a low entry barrier, and present and support programming on self-publishing and topics relevant to our community. From collaborating with schools and libraries to offer workshops in the leadup to the festival, to shifting our 2020 festival to a 6-hour live streamed broadcast to meet the safety needs of COVID-19, we have remained responsive to our community. With 470 visitors attending our 2021 festival - our first in person since the onset of COVID-19 - ZFH strives to continue safely growing our attendance to pre-COVID levels.
