Help fund the Chef Bud Selmi Culinary Scholarship

Chef Bud was taken far too early from the MWV Culinary community after a several year journey with dementia. To recognize his dedication to the culinary field and specifically the education of local culinary students, we have established the Chef Bud Selmi Culinary Scholarship. We are looking for your support in helping raise the initial donations to ensure that this scholarship in Bud's memory lasts for many years.

It is anticipated that starting in Spring 2022, that this scholarship will award $500 - $1000 yearly to a graduating Kennett High School student looking to further their education in the culinary arts.

Chef Bud was active in the local schools bringing culinary education to our students in many ways. As a co-founder of the Chef and the Child program, he worked with elementary school students with hands on education and teaching them how to be creative with food. He spent many years working closely with the Kennett High School Culinary Arts program and the Junior American Culinary Federation students helping further their education.

Bud was a teacher, mentor, leader, and friend to many who were getting their start in the culinary field. It only seems fitting to ensure that this passion continues on into the future in his memory. This scholarship will give others the opportunity to further their passion in the culinary arts.
