Help Shelby become a therapy dog!
Donation protected
On August 16, 2019 we decided to volunteer for a dog rescue and picked up a miniature schnauzer mix from the animal shelter. She had what appeared to be a broken leg, was heart worm positive, and had a hernia. We were asked to foster her through these treatments and procedures ending with her left front paw amputation on December 4, 2019. She has recovered well and is such a sweet dog... we of course fell in love with her! As a family we have decided to make her part of our family and would like to get her trained as a therapy dog. She bonded right away with our 13 year old son with special needs. He would like to help train her as a therapy dog to visit hospitals. She may give hope or at least a smile to those with limb differences and amputations.

Through a friend I found a lower cost program in Norman, OK called A New Leash On Life. This program is much less intensive and much cheaper! It has a more limited scope of where Shelby can go as a therapy dog but it will give us a good start.
