My name is Feyifunmi Oginni, a film maker currently studying for my Masters degree in Film and Television Production at the University of Hertfordshire London. I gave up my job in the Corporate world to pursue my film-making passion and moved from my home country to pursue this degree. I am the only Nigerian student in my class of 10. I have faced many challenges and learnt so much in the past year and I have now made it to the finish line.
‘Mr and Mrs Jenkins’ is my final project short film, a requirement for the completion of my Masters Degree. This project is quite an investment and I need your support to make it happen.
As part of my training as a Film Producer, I have to show that I have the ability to raise funds for projects and convince investors to put money into my project and this is why I need your help to finance this project.
‘Mr and Mrs Jenkins’ is a short film about the evils of intimate partner violence popularly known as domestic violence. Domestic Violence is one of the most common problems facing the world today and cannot be over flogged. The latest figures from the Crime Survey for England and Wales show that an estimated 2.0 million adults aged 16 to 59 years experienced domestic abuse in the last year (1.3 million women, 695,000 men).And in Nigeria, one in four women in Nigeria reported having ever experienced intimate partner violence.
That’s why I have decided to add my voice to the campaign about domestic violence and talk about both male and female victims and not just female victims.
Every penny raised will go into paying for cast, crew, and logistics involved in making this film.
The amount I am able to raise determines how much I am able to do with my film and the quality of the production. It is therefore very important that I meet my £4,500 target.
The higher the quality also, the higher my marks, which means both my academic scores and the success of this production are largely dependent on your investments and donations.
Please bear in mind that this campaign ends in 10 days.
