Help fund bursary places for The Visionaries

Donate to The Life Centre & Yogacampus's Community Fundraiser Walk to help The Visionaries CIC raise essential bursary funding.

 

Together these three organisations will hike 18km up Helvellyn in the Lake District on Saturday 25th June to raise money for The Visionaries' bursary fund.

Everything you donate will enable marginalised young people to access the health benefits of time in nature by attending The Village At The Edge Of The World this Summer.

 

 

Young people in the UK spend less time outdoors than prison inmates - less than 1 hour a day! This is even less for those living in urban areas of high deprivation. If we're going to tackle social, racial and environmental injustices, we need a diverse cohort of leaders.

 

The Visionaries open up the possibility of spending time immersed in nature to those who have never had that opportunity, giving them a vital platform to develop their ecological leadership potential. They feel nature's therapeutic benefits and get the necessary space to look after their mental health.

 

"My week at The Village with The Visionaries was epic and healing in so many ways. I've spent years trying to find myself, my purpose, my identity, and unfortunately, the only way that manifested itself was through an eating disorder and depression.

As well as supporting their health, The Village also creates a potent community of support. Participants are guided through a developmental process to help them discover their innate gifts and explore how to find deeper meaning and purpose.

 

The off-grid camp includes sharing circles, mountain walks, wild swimming, open fire cooking and concludes in a nature solo - a powerful moment of solitude in the mountains.

Every £500 raised covers the cost for a young person to access the camp, which they otherwise would never have the means to do so. We specifically offer bursaries to those in the most marginalised positions who aspire to fight for social, racial and environmental injustices. This gives them a huge confidence boost and a platform to know that their voice matters and is essential in bringing about the change we all know is needed.
