Help Black Queer Band release debut Album

We are currently working toward the release of our debut album “For the Source Part 1” and are seeking to acquire the remaining funds:
$1,400 to contract an engineer to mix and master the album for digital streaming, CD and vinyl.
$500 to contract a team to help us create an engaging campaign and distribution plan for our project
$500 to commission and license the work of a Black art maker/designer to create an original work for the albums cover, art and aesthetic
Black Folks Don't Swim? is a collective of musicians, songwriters, composers, and activists generating comfortable spaces for all to come together and feel uplifted through music. Our sounds reflect personal changes and life experiences that shape our perspective and how we communicate.
BFDS? has produced a number of soulful songs over the last three years that have been performed in venues in and around DC. Like all artists in 2020 we have found ourselves pivoting in response to the continued impact this global crisis has on our lives, our ability to make music, and sustaining the empowerment we feel through collaborating with others.
We are beyond grateful for the venues that have supported our efforts to safely gather and host our music this year. This has afforded us the opportunity to contract our mixing engineer Carolyn Malachi.
We appreciate all considerations to ensure Black art lives and thrives. Thanks in advance for your support as we continue in this process!
