Frost Odyssey of the Mind Team Heading to World Finals!
~ Please support our fundraising efforts ~
We are partnering with Robert Frost Middle School PTA to offer a tax-deductible donation to help us raise enough money to compete with teams from around the world at the World Championship at Michigan State University. Our team of five 8th and two 7th grade students are all from Oak View Elementary School. In three of the four years the core team has been together, we have advanced to the Virginia State tournament, narrowly missing Worlds two years ago to Frost’s 2017 team. So, this is a goal we have worked hard to pursue and a dream come true!
During the four-day tournament, we will stay in the dorms; foster a team from another region of the world; attend technical and performance-based academic challenges designed to test our critical thinking and creativity skills, communication, and collaborative team-work; and compete in solving three time-sensitive problems – Long-term, Spontaneous, and Style, of which we have historically placed 1st in Long-term and Style.
