Fred and Heather need our help!
As most of you know, Heather Schiller was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2015. Since that time, she has fought like a warrior with every ounce of strength she could muster, and Fred has been the knight at her side every step of the way - through multiple rounds of chemo, radiation, and experimental treatment. Through it all, Fred and Heather have been shining examples of courage, determination, grace, poise, grit, and love. Cancer has not stopped them from living, and it has not stolen their joy. Your constant encouragement, prayers, love, and support have helped them so much along the way.
As you also know, Fred and Heather have asked for very little help during this multi-year battle. They have sought, instead, to be a source of encouragement and hope for the people around them - their family, their friends, their colleagues, their *Fight CRC* family. Their goal has been to bring life to everyone else, even as they fought fiercely for Heather's. To this point, they have managed financially almost entirely on their own. Today, they are asking for our help.
On Wednesday (12/18), doctors advised that Heather's chemo be put on hold, and she will now require care around the clock. While they will receive some medical assistance at home, Fred needs to be with Heather during this time. That means he will not be able to work, which is where we come in.
Fred needs about $2,500 a month to cover basic expenses like housing, insurance, utilities, and medicine. He has asked us to help cover them for four months while he focuses 100% of his attention on caring for the love of his life. That's $10,000. I think we can do better.
Let's raise $15,000 and make sure that the last thing Fred and Heather have to worry about during the next few months is money. (Any money Fred and Heather don't use will be donated to *Fight CRC* to help continue the fight against CRC in Heather's name.)
