Help for women's health in Uganda

Many women in Uganda suffer from poor health or trauma when pregnant or giving birth. Helping Uganda Schools (HUGS) supports the work of Sr Grace Nannyondo, a Ugandan Consultant Gynaecologist (and nun) with a particular interest in repairing birth traumas. We sponsored Sr Grace through University.

She has a patient, aged 18, who requires an operation but is too poor to afford the procedure. We are raising money for her.

HUGS also helps workers in a Kampala Slum, provide sexual health classes to girls, to avoid teen pregnancy and be safe. This enables them to continue in education, which fundamentally changes their future opportunities.
