Help for the Warner Valley Community

Donation protected

Erica Alvarez: Hello, my name is Erica Alvarez, most of you know me by my maiden name Felden. I am a resident of the Warner Valley area which was one of the areas strongly affected by the fire. Many of the families in this community lost their homes and their treasured possessions to the Dixie Fire.

I am not fundraising for myself, and my husband and I have no intention of keeping any of this money, although my family also lost our home. My target is to help those in need who are unable to pay for the cleanup, the copayments to rebuild, or what is needed to restore what was lost. Each house that you see posted in red is a house lost, an individual who has to now think about a financial burden alongside the heartache. This small community means everything to me. I grew up here and have memories tied to these neighbors. I remember each walk saying hi and visiting for hours, swimming in the creek with my sister, and watching most of these get built. It tears me up to see what we loved most gone. Please consider helping those in the Warner area afford cleanup and restoration. God bless.

Shannon Wiley: My name is Shannon Wiley, Five generations in my family have loved the greater Chester area. My grandpa’s love of the mountains and all they hold has been passed on for generations. My parents were able to make a dream come true a little more then a decade ago when they bought in Warner Valley. We hadn’t built yet but we did suffer a loss, none greater then our beautiful forest burning in the DixieFire. Warner Valley just outside of Chester, CA was hit hard in the DixieFire and is still actively burning in our valley/community. I love Warner Valley and the mountains and truly want to give back to my community, I will not be using these funds for my own family. There are several multi generational cabins in our area that were lost, some travel trailers that were used as residences, pumps to access water, generators, some didn’t have fire insurance and then there’s the cost of clean up and rebuilding. Together with Erica I’m committed to rebuilding the valley I love as a whole for future generations to come. My son (9) asked me when his grandma’s trees will be green again, I don’t have an answer for that, but I can show him and teach him what it is to care for our valley through this tragedy. From the bottom of my heart thank you for your consideration and support of our small mountain community.
