Help for the Sanchez Family
Donation protected
My mother moved to the US mainland as a child, and she stayed. Her brother decided to move back. Puerto Rico is part of America, and that decision shouldn't have made him or his family second class citizens, but in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria it's clear that this is how they are being treated. The family lives in Caguas, Puerto Rico, where people have been without basic necessities, including electricity, for weeks. My uncle is diabetic, and his generator has broken down. The local hospitals are out of supplies, so that is not an option for care. He needs a new generator, or a ticket off the island, so his insulin can be refrigerated. Two of my cousins also have babies who drink formula and need clean water, which is scarce.
We will help as much as we can, but they need more than we can give. We're raising money for basic necessities like water, gas, and food, and to help buy a new generator. Any additional funds will help the most vulnerable members of the family (my uncle and the young babies) leave the island for a safer place if needed.
Any help you can give would be so appreciated.
