Help for The Petersons while Brian is Recovering

On the evening of May 30th, Brian Peterson (38 years old) suffered a massive heart attack. Emergency personnel and hospital staff had to resuscitate him twice after his heart stopped. He had two stents put into the left side of his heart to reopen the arteries.

Due to the heart attack and following complications, he was on life support for four days and in the hospital for almost two weeks. He was released on Friday June 10th and is now recovering at home. 

Brian currently has very limited mobility as he regains strength. He’ll have physical therapy three days a week and a home nurse visits three days a week as well. He’ll also need speech therapy and health & mobility aids. Insurance is helping but they’ll have a lot of out of pocket expenses in the coming weeks and months. 

 

His wife (my sister) Kristen has been diligently & lovingly by his side and caring for him while he recovers. Kristen works full time at Hy-Vee, but hasn’t been there long enough to accrue paid time off so any time she’ll have to take will be unpaid. 

 

We’re asking for help for Brian and Kristen to help alleviate some of the financial concerns ahead of them, so they can focus on Brian’s ongoing healing and recovery and not worry as much about their finances.

 

All funds raised will be given directly to Brian and Kristen.
