Help for the Bandit that stole my heart

Bandit needs your help!
This little guy certainly lives up to his name; Before you know it, he steals your heart. And all with that boundless goofball energy and silly smile!
He might be shy at first, but before you know it he's wiggling and waggling all over the place, happy as heck just to know that you're there.
But there are no bouncy wiggles right now. And Bandit needs our help.

A vet consultation has revealed a torn ACL in his left hind leg. For which, there are two options:
One, a long (and probably rather painful) extended period of keeping the leg in a cast, and switching it out every two weeks. This would involve an awful long and uncertain period to not only remain in pain, (which we want to avoid), but to be sentenced to mandatory wearing of the "Head Cone of Infinite Horrors," (which if the look on his face right now is any indication, he would sure love to avoid!)
The other option, that would get him back on his paws much quicker, is surgery. Still several weeks of recovery (and cone) involved, sure, but he would come out of it happy, healthy, and back to his wiggly waggly self.
There really is only one honest choice here: Getting this sweet little goober well again with as little pain as possible. But while surgery will be far easier for him, good medical care comes with some real challenges, mainly in the form of hefty bills for his human.
And that's why we're here: to ask you for your help.
Surgery and aftercare are staggering expenses, and have come with no warning. Anything that anyone could possibly spare would make a world of difference! Please,h friends, help me get this amazing goober well again.
