Help for our Venezuelan Sisters

We are raising money to bring Adriana's sisters, Milagros and Xiomara, to Waupaca from Caracus, Venezuela for the Christmas holidays.
Perhaps you've had the chance to meet these two delightful ladies at Tim and Adriana's home during past holidays. If you did, you know how appreciative they are for the time and hospitality they've experienced in the Waupaca community. As some of you may know, the political environment in Venezuela, and Caracas especially, has been extremely difficult for a while. Food and everyday provisions are scarce. They are regularly forced to go without meals - finding simple staples like rice and beans can mean hours in lines only to get small rations, if they're lucky. The weight loss in both ladies is evident.
Getting Milagros and Xiomara back to Wisconsin for Christmas gives them something to look forward to and more importantly gives them some relief from the stress of the political turmoil going on in their country.
Any contribution you make will be used toward their airline tickets to Chicago and some spending money for them once they get here. They don't have the means to get here themselves as they don't have access to their money and their currency is so devalued.
Airline tickets from Caracas to Chicago typically cost $1500-$1700 each - and possibly more since only 4 airlines even service Caracas any more. Anything raised over the cost of the airline tickets will be given to these ladies as spending money for provisions while here. Funds will go directly to Tim and Adriana who will purchase the airline tickets because money cannot be sent to Venezuela.
In the past, these costs have been covered by Tim and Adriana and other family members. This year we are using the gofundme platform as the method to raise funds from family and friends who have express interest and concern for the Saavedra Sisters.
