Do you have $10?
As many of you know, I have recently rescued a very sweet street cat.
Gus is old (we don't know how old of course, but probably at least 12). He had been out on the streets a long, long time when we found him, and was completely emaciated. He would not have made it much longer if he had not been rescued.
He is the sweetest cat you ever met, and I am so lucky he found his way to my home.
Poor Gus has quite a few medical problems, including severe inflammation of his kidneys, liver and pancreas, as well as very high blood sugar (hard to tell for now if it's diabetes or being caused by the inflammation, so he's on insulin, enzymes, antibiotics, steroids and liver medication.
He also has a mouth full of rotten teeth, but removing them is out of the question for now, so he's on CBD oil for the pain.
I am 100 per cent committed to giving this cat the best life he can have, for as long as I can. It's what he deserves after so many years of suffering.
But I'm not going to lie - the vet bills are steep.
I typically wouldn't do this, but a friend suggested starting a fundraiser, and I thought - why not?
What my hope is that by asking 50 people to give $10 each, I might be able to recoup some of these vet costs (the goal here is only part of the bill, and it is certain there will be more bills in the future).
I know times are hard for many of us, and if you cannot give, I completely understand - but if you could consider giving only $10, and sharing this, I would be really, really grateful - and so will Gus!
