Help for Kris Pagan & Her Younger Son

Donation protected
On Friday evening, July 23, 2021, our family suffered an unimaginable, horrific tragedy.  Our cousin (Illya) known to her friends and family as Kris, along with her brother,  Mark, were brutally attacked by Kris’ oldest son. Tragically, Mark passed away, and Kris is fighting for her life. Kris is a single mother of two sons.  She was also her disabled brother Mark’s caretaker. Kris has suffered great losses in her life including the passing of her mother 7 years ago; her sister,  who was also disabled, passed away in January of this year, and the passing of her husband 3 years ago.  Yet, with all of these hardships,  Kris has always been a woman with tremendous faith in God!  She goes about life with a positive attitude, and her faith in God’s will is what keeps her going day to day to take care of her family.
Last Friday,  upon arriving home from a family outing to the beach in Savannah, Ga,  Kris's oldest son brutally beat his mother and uncle with a baseball bat. Tragically, his uncle passed away.  Kris's younger son was able to get the bat away from his older brother after he himself was hit, and then he ran to a neighbor’s house where they called 911.
Her oldest son was arrested. He has been charged with felony murder, felony aggravated battery-family violence, and two counts of felony aggravated assault-family violence.  Her youngest son is trying to process everything that has happened. It is difficult since he has autism and a processing disorder. But, he knows his mother was hurt, and that his older brother hurt her.  He is unable to care for himself, and currently, we are working to try and find placement for him.  Kris was care flighted to Shand's Hospital in Jacksonville. She is in critical and guarded condition in the SICU. She has suffered major trauma to her head,  resulting in a brain bleed, all the bones in her face are broken, and both arms are broken with open fractures from her trying to defend herself. Doctors are also monitoring the pressure on Kris's brain from the brain bleed. If Kris survives, she will have to undergo several surgeries, and will be hospitalized indefinitely.  It is still too early to know if Kris will survive this horrific beating at the hands of her oldest son, and whether or not she will have permanent neurological disabilities. Please if you can donate, any amount, it will be greatly appreciated. The funds collected will go towards Kris's medical bills, financial stability, funeral arrangements for Kris's brother, and her younger son's support during this horrific time.
Thank you for your help and prayers.
