Help for Jamie Derfler’s liver transplant

Donation protected

We would like to help Jamie and Sean with the expenses from Jamie’s liver transplant.  They  could use help with the hospital expenses, and the time Sean will be taking off work while Jamie is in the hospital.

....Please  take a moment to read below the
beautiful story of the  miracle of how the            transplant took place.

The last few days I have experienced every emotion possible. I never thought I could hurt so bad and at the same time be so happy. My heart has been through so much since we learned the tragic news of the horrific car accident our dear friend Caleb was in. Caleb was so special to our family. Caleb and Corey's bond goes all the way back to Jr. high. Caleb was a peer tutor in one of Corey's school classes. Corey was instantly drawn to Caleb. Several years later Caleb was serving an LDS mission in Houston, which happened to be the same time the terrible flooding destroyed so many homes and businesses in Houston. Caleb spent a very big part of his mission doing service for so many people, helping them clean and get their homes back to a livable condition. Caleb loved to serve other people.
While on his mission, he reached out to his mother and asked her to contact me because he wanted to write letters to Corey. Corey and Caleb exchanged letters and photos. Corey absolutely loved it. The exact week Caleb returned home to Utah at the end of his two year mission, we happened to get approved for state funding to be able to hire someone to assist us on a daily basis with Corey. We had the strongest feeling that we needed to offer this opportunity to Caleb. Caleb accepted this opportunity and was so excited, as was Corey. Caleb came to our house everyday and spent hours with Corey, watching movies, playing games, running around the neighborhood with Corey, pretending they were being chased by Ware wolves. Anything Corey asked Caleb to do, he did without hesitation. He even sat on the floor and played with dolls and a doll house. What 22 year old young man would do something like that? Caleb would! He was the most amazing young man I've ever met. He did everything he could to make Corey happy, he served our family with so much love and dedication.
Today Caleb continues to serve my family as my wife Jamie Peterson Derfler is currently in the operating room receiving Caleb's Liver. As many of you know, Jamie has been patiently waiting for a liver transplant. Her health has not been good the last few years, she has struggled so bad, and has been in so much pain. Caleb is giving her the gift of life again.
We are so honored to be able to have a part of him with our family for the rest of our lives. Caleb will always be there with us. Thank you Sheri Johnson, Mike Johnson and Marissa Gonzales Johnson and Caleb for this amazing miracle and the gift of life. Words can not express the love and gratitude my family and Jamie's family has to yours. We love you all so much. Can't wait to hug you all!
Caleb once told his mother that Corey changed his life, and now, Caleb is changing ours.❤️❤️❤️
