A Friend In Need is a Friend InDeed

This is my friend Shawn but I call him Boo.  He's a great guy and would give you the shirt off his back - he also hooked me up with my husband of almost 30 years.  A few months ago he fell and wasn't feeling right.  He began feeling light headed when he got up, lost feeling in his arm, hand and leg.  The doctors kept telling him it had nothing to do with his hip replacement and that he was fine.  After 2 months, he was in so much pain he went to his primary care provider and they immediately sent him by ambulance to Albany Med.  There he learned he had a pinched nerve in his vertebrea and they needed to do neck surgery ASAP or he would be facing a lifetime of paralysis and living in a wheel chair.  They also told him even with surgery, he may never get back what he has already lost - only time will tell.

Shawn will be out of work for the next several weeks (6 weeks as of right now).  During this time he will not be getting much money, if any at all to support himself.  If you know Shawn, you know he isn't materialistic - much to the contrary!!!  He drives an older vehicle and lives in his childhood home.   He is also the type of guy who won't ask for anything, even when he is truly down and out.

I am hoping to raise a little money as soon as possible to help him get through the next few weeks.  Its really cold here in Upstate New York - unusually artic freeze with negative numbers on the thermometer.  He uses oil to heat his modest ranch house and I know how much a tank of oil costs (around $500+ right now).  He has done what he can to request a grace period for a few bills but unfortunately there are some costs that just cannot be avoided such as food, rehab copayments (3 per week = $60), $1,000 hospital copayment, ambulence cost of maybe $800 and heating oil.

If you are out there and reading my plea for help on behalf of my friend Boo, anything you are able to help out with is more than greatly appreciated and we hope whatever you give comes back to you twofold!  If I had the means, I would give him money to help him out but unfortunately the amount I can give him won't get him through this entire down period.  So thus the reason for  my creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my other brother Shawn Tice - otherwise known to  most as Buddah!!  THANK YOU for your kindness and generousity and may your New Year be blessed with many great things . . . .
