Help us help the Voice of the Canyon
Dennis Schlies has been a 911 Dispatcher for over 40 years. He has served the communities of the Santiam Canyon with a steadfast commitment to excellence. Dennis IS the voice of the canyon. His voice has been the calm anchor over the air for countless first responders and countless emergencies.
Earlier this week Dennis was at work, dispatching the fire response in the canyon, all while his own home and property was completely destroyed by the devastating fires and his family was forced the leave their home.
Dennis' wife was able to safely evacuate while Dennis calmly moved fire resources through the canyon. Now they have to start over with only the clothes on their backs, a few toiletries, their pets and the few items Denise was able to load up.
Dennis is a wonderful member of our First Responder community who never asks for help, however is always willing to help anyone who asks.
The members of Dennis's 911 family and the North Marion County Dispatch Association is asking for your help. It is time to give back to a man who has selflessly given so much to the canyon for so many years. We have started this campaign to assist Dennis and Denise get back on their feet. Any and all help is greatly appreciated.
Please also spread the word and help us help a selfless 911 Dispatcher, husband, friend and beloved member of our First Responder Community. The NMCDA thanks you for your help.
