Help for Chi

My sweet daughter, my youngest, has experienced racism at its worst. She and her boyfriend Chi have been harassed for weeks in their apartment building in the Congress Park area. A creepy old white man and his 35 year old son, have made life miserable for them.

This week, unprovoked, our sweet Chi was shot in the stomach. He’s been in the ICU with damage to his liver. 

 The neighbors were arrested and charged with 1st degree Attempted Murder and Assault with a Deadly Weapon. They had been planning this.   Both have been released on bond and are back in their home now. Because  of this,  Kiki and Chi are not able to  return back to their apartment, and have to break their lease.    

Chi has a long road to recovery.  Doctors found additional bruising around his liver and have been concerned about a possible stroke and/or blood clots .  

I am raising support to help Chi with his medical bills, lost wages (he will be out of work and on bed rest for a significant time), cost of housing,  and legal fees to make sure this is classified as a hate crime. 

I’m so thankful for all of the support and care we have received from neighbors, the police, family and friends.
