Help for Chef Gus Banks

Gus Banks is a friend and co-worker who needs our help!
On October 1st, Gus was in a scooter accident on his way home from work. He was transported to Key West Medical Center and from there to Kendall Hospital in Miami. Gus has a broken knee and broken foot. He underwent surgery a couple of days later and now has a metal plate and six screws in his knee. He has been moved to a rehab facility in Miami for a week before returning home with a walker and wheel chair. He needs to stay off the leg completely for 3 months before undergoing another 3 months of rehab.
Gus works as a sous chef at Latitudes on Sunset Key in Key West, FL and has been there for six years. He and his wife Kathie moved to Key West in 2011. Kathie works for the United States Postal Service and was transferred to Key West.
Over the past two years, Gus has had some medical issues that have put him out of work for a period of time. Thankfully, Kathie has been with the Postal Service for 32 years and has good medical coverage. But as we all know, that is not enough to survive an ordeal like this. There is no coverage that can replace the loss of income that Gus is going to face for the next 6 months, minimum. There are still the expenses of mortgage, insurance, taxes, utilities, food, clothes, ect that health insurance is not going to cover. Gus is a hard working, tough, prideful guy who would not ask for help on his own. That’s why we are starting this Go Fund Me on his behalf.
