Help for Casey and Mark

The past year has been the most challenging of my entire life.  After my Dad passed away, I had a stroke. I'm still recovering from it's effects.  After losing my Father's home, the only one I've ever known, my Brother & his wife took my wife & I, in.  Shortly thereafter my wife Casey rapidly developed an extremely serious spinal degradation that almost severed her spine. After several misdiagnosis, she suffered daily falls to the floor she simply could not walk anymore.  Her legs would just give out. It was terrifying.

After 2 months, she was finally  diagnosed properly & had to have emergency spinal surgery at Lenox Hill hospital in Manhattan, this was a surgery with a risk of her becoming a paraplegic.  Thankfully, she survived her 8 hour  fusion and de-compression surgery last week & is struggling to recover.  We were very lucky that a top neurosurgeon took her on. She now faces months of recovery, her sick time has run out, the out of pocket insurance co-pays and so on are WAY more than any one can handle. Unfortunately her job does not offer temporary disability.  My Brother Daniel & my Sister-n-Law, Nancy have been keeping a roof over our heads this year. We are grateful. Sadly, just as Dan has been recovering from a serious hip dislocation.

Then during all this, I was in a terrible car crash. A 22 year old driver turned right in front of me & then came to a complete stop, just feet in front of my vehicle. My car is totaled, my bruises are extensive & my Uber vehicle, my only source of income is gone. The kid that caused this catastrophe  has no license, no insurance & several misdemeanors.  I’m now  unable to work until I can get a new car.  But I've been in a NYC  Hospital emotionally supporting my wife.  We are good people and have always done the best we could. Those of you who know me know I’m always there to help. I feel pretty awful having to ask for help, but we have a long road ahead of us & right now everything is uncertain. Having to depend on Daniel while he's recovering from his injury, &  on his wife Nancy as she's recovering from her cancer is very stressful.

I'm trying to find a car with hand controls for my wife, IF she's even able to ever drive again. Her right foot is only about 10% of normal even after the surgery but we have hope of a normal life. I’m crying while I'm writing  this. If anyone can help my wife & I move past this overwhelming challenge, we would be beyond grateful.  Positive Vibes & Blessings to You All! And thank you so much.  Love, Mark, Casey & Peter the cat.
