Help fix Amy's broken wing

After having my bicycle stolen shortly after moving to New Orleans, my Joey built me a new fancy one.  This is what happened the first time I rode it.
We were having a great time watching the Pride parade and riding all over the Quarter.  Heading home we were riding in the lane the streetcars travel in.  My front time got wedged in the rail and down I went.  Dislocated shoulder and broken eye socket with various abrasions.

My first ambulance ride and I have no relocation of it thanks to head meeting concrete and a concussion.  After several hours in the ER, lots of scans and pain meds they released me with orders for follow up with Ortho and Facial surgeons in a week.

Went to the follow ups Monday the 19th.  Thankfully, no surgery for the face.  **6/22 found out I do have to have surgery on my eye** Unfortunately, when I dislocated my shoulder I also ripped a tendon off the bone and it needs to be attached or it won't heal.  It can only be fixed with surgery.

We've had a really rough time since moving here.  It took me 5 weeks to get into a job.  It's a good job but I have no insurance.  I'm hoping to qualify for financial assistance through the hospital but if not I have to put $2900 down or they won't do the surgery.  I had also just got caught up on bills and now missing work they are all behind again.  Joey is working but it's not enough for everything and he's also missing work having to drive me everywhere.

I can't drive and won't be able to for at least 2 months. If I don't have the surgery I will lose a lot of use of my left arm.  The numbness will probably never go away and it will be very painful.  Worst of all I won’t be able to ride my motorcycle anymore!!

I hate asking for help but sometimes it’s necessary.  Any little amount can make a difference.  First and foremost any money will go towards the deposit for the surgery.  Depending on how much financial help I get through the hospital anything else will go for basics…rent, food, gas money.  Joey is picking up extra work where he can and I’m working as much as I can.  I only took one day off after the accident and plan to be back at work 2 days after surgery.  I hope that my friends and family and anyone else that feels compelled to help we would appreciate anything.  Pennies count at this point.
Our love to you all!
