Help Finn Overcome His Medical Emergency

Hi, my name is Carly Sherman and I am fundraising on behalf of my partner, Finnegan Forster, who is currently enduring a medical emergency.

Last Friday, April 19th, Finn began to fall ill. Stomach cramping, fever, nausea, and back pain. He could hardly sleep through the night due to the pain and how it was beginning to spread throughout his body. But, since he had just gotten back from a 9-day surf trip in Mexico, we wrongly assumed that it was just a bug from the water or food.

Saturday, April 20th, we both headed to work but only a couple hours later, we left and headed straight for the hospital. His cramps had increased and at this point, he could barely walk. We arrived at Providence Mission Hospital and thankfully, he was seen right away. After some blood work and a CT scan, we learned his kidneys were not functioning.

This is extremely concerning for Finn considering he has no blood pressure issues or diabetes. He has previously been blessed with great health up until now. Today is day 4 in the hospital and we still don't have answers. His creatinine level in his kidneys is supposed to be a 1 or lower. His creatinine was at 2.6 when we arrived and is currently at 3.3, which is threatening. His kidneys are not processing toxins, resulting in extreme pain, fatigue, cramping, swelling, and nausea.

I am starting this GoFundMe for him for multiple reasons. He will need help covering the costs that insurance won't be able to, especially regarding outpatient care. He will need a nephrologist (kidney specialist) when he is discharged and many reputable specialists are not fully covered by insurance. He has also missed a significant amount of work and will continue to until further notice. We both work in the service industry, so no Paid Time Off. Finn may be here through next week for pain management and treatment (depending on what the diagnosis and prognosis are).

If you can donate, anything helps. Finn is staying positive, as are we, but we do need your support right now. Monetary support isn't always the easiest thing to ask for, but we decided we needed to go this route. Other than a donation, texts, prayers, love, and laughter will also help him tremendously. I love this man more than anything and am trying to help relieve as much stress as possible for a speedy recovery with no worries.
