Help fight thyroid cancer!

This is my best friend Melanie Parker. We met 6 years ago at Beechwood Rehab where we work together as nurses. She is one of the most vibrant and compassionate woman I have ever met. She lights up any room anywheres she goes. She is a registered nurse, a wife, a mother of 3 small children, a daughter, a sister, and a loyal friend to many. Last fall around Thanksgiving we were working together and I asked Melanie if she has ever had her thyroid checked. She asked me why and I told her that the left side of her neck looked different. She said, “well yes, I have a nodule.” We went back to work taking care of our patients and I thought nothing else of the incident. Weeks later I received a phone call from Melanie. She was very upset and crying. She called me to say thank you because she had her nodule biopsied and the results came back positive for papillary thyroid carcinoma. I was speechless. About a week later she had surgery to remove her entire thyroid and she started her road to recovery.

Part of Melanie’s recovery is to check if her cancer has spread to anywhere else in her body. Unfortunately this test is 4K dollars!
