Help with Patty’s expenses while she fights cancer
If you know Patty Carkner, you know that she is one of the most loving, giving and caring people that you have probably ever met.
Patty is 58 years old and lived in Guelph for most of her adult life which is where she and her husband Kevin raised their 2 kids, Jonathon and David. She had been healthy her whole life and loved playing ball hockey and softball with her friends and volunteering at the Guelph Kiwanis club.
Patty and her husband both left their jobs and life in Guelph to move to Vancouver to be able to spend more time with their new grandson. As you can see in the photo, he absolutely adores her as much as she adores him!
Just months after moving to Vancouver, Patty, was dealt a terrible blow! She has been diagnosed with an aggressive cancerous tumour found in her lung (and no, she is not a smoker!).
As if the diagnosis is not horrible enough, the timing could not be worse. She now has to go through 6 weeks of radiation, followed by surgery and chemo and ultimately recuperation, unfortunately, she has not been in her new job long enough, therefore she is not insured for the time that she has to spend off of work (at least 6 months)!
This is a campaign to help raise funds to help with Patty’s expenses during the time that she is incapable of working so that she can keep her focus on fighting this terrible disease.
Can you help?
