Help Get Farmer Hannah Back on the Road

The Backstory
My name is Hannah Eisloeffel, owner of Table Bluff Farm, a regenerative microfarm in Loleta, CA. The farm is nestled between the Humboldt Bay Wildlife Refuge and the mouth of the Eel River, with the Pacific Ocean due west. On my farm, I raise and breed heritage hogs, pastured chickens along with my no-till flower and vegetable garden.

As a first-generation, woman farmer, I strive to bring affordable, just-picked vegetables to everyone in our community by offering $20/week, pay-as-you-go farm share subscriptions of all of the above items and more. To meet customers where they are, I offer weekly doorstep delivery (contactless
due to Covid) along with other pick-up sites.

On Monday February 8 at 11AM, I was driving home on Highway 101 with a rental trailer full of compost for my no-till vegetable beds, when the trailer jackknifed, sending me, my partner, and my beloved farm car into the cement median. Miraculously, no one else was involved and neither of us was injured. However, the farm car—my only vehicle and my sole source of income—was totaled.

The Ask
I’m reaching out to those in my farm-ily,
in Humboldt County and beyond, to help me raise $35,000 to purchase a farm delivery vehicle, the thing so crucial to keeping my small, woman-owned farm business alive. With this money, I will be able to purchase a reliable vehicle that’s efficient for making deliveries in our rural county. I got a lot out of my 2015 RAV4 (and its airbags saved my life), but I now realize it’s time to upgrade my only vehicle to something more suitable for continuing to make low-cost doorstep deliveries possible.
