Help Family Pay for the Funeral of Deshawn McGee
Donation protected
On Wednesday August 7th, the mom and family of Deshawn McGee received terrible, unexpected news.
Deshawn McGee, a 24 year old father of 2, was riding in an SUV with his cousin when he was shot and killed. The car he was in then ran into a concrete barrier on I-70 and burst into flames. Although good Samaritans tried to help, he was pronounced dead at the scene due to the shooting.
There are currently no suspects in the murder. As the case remains open, Deshawn's family is not only left with the grieving related to their loss, the unknowns related to the case, but also with the inability to pay for his funeral and related expenses.
I have known Deshawn's mom Barbara ever since moving to St Louis. Barbara is an honest and hardworking woman who has persevered through hardships to provide for her family and try to make a better future for them. Clearly this is a nightmare situation for her and her grandchildren.
I am hoping that we, those of us who know Barbara and those who don't, as her Christian community and broader St Louis community, can help out and show her our appreciation and love. Let our community rise to support Barbara in this difficult moment and ease the burden of funeral expenses.
