Help Eza with Top Surgery

Donation protected
Many of you may know Eza (they/them), a wonderful and badass currently disabled, queer, trans, nonbinary individual, and you all are extremely lucky! For those of you who don’t know them, it’s never too late to change! Some of you may know that they recently embraced their truth as a nonbinary person, and fewer still may know that they are pursuing gender affirming top surgery.

I know Eza to be incredibly kind, authentic, and selfless. Their compassion and care given to their clients as a politicized healer and therapist is rivaled only by the loyalty and love they give to those lucky enough to call them friend or family. Since I’ve known them, they have always put others first and have advocated for justice and positive change in every role they have been in, both personal and professional. At this point in their life, with everything they have been through and continue experiencing, they deserve to get that care and advocacy back tenfold.

Since 2017, Eza has been struggling with several chronic illnesses that have been debilitating and make working full-time and maintaining financial security incredibly difficult, if not impossible. The past year and a half has been particularly difficult for them financially, as high out-of-pocket medical expenses (tests, procedures, copays, prescriptions, etc.) and an unplanned job change led to less security for them and their partner. Since the beginning of 2021, they have been experiencing a significant flare up in their illnesses and pain, which has led to them being unable to work full-time and has exacerbated mental health concerns.

Eza stepped into their truth later than they would have liked, and part of that truth includes gender affirming top surgery, which will bring their physical body closer in alignment with their gender identity and expression. While this will not “fix” their chronic physical pain, it will help alleviate the emotional pain of experiencing a body that is not in line with who they are.

We all know that crowdfunding is one of the many messed up things that we need to do in our country to get basic needs met. Many are experiencing so much financial hardship because of the pandemic, and it can be a lot to donate money. If there is anything you can do to support Eza in pursuing top surgery, whether it’s donating money or spreading the word, it would be so appreciated and welcomed. Any donations made will go toward covering the cost of top surgery, supplies for recovery, and missed work associated with their surgery, chronic pain, and mental health concerns.

TL;DR:
Currently disabled, queer, trans, nonbinary healer hoping to get financial help with top surgery.
