Help Eve With Medical Expenses and new Wheelchair

UPDATE: We have really come together as a community!! We reached the dream wheelchair goal ($1550!). For anyone asking yes it will be hot pink and sparkly! Anymore donations we receive will go towards helping Eve with college and other medical expenses! Thank you all so much

Eve is a senior at Colorado Early Colleges High School. She has an outstanding GPA of 5.2, is a member of the National Honors Society, and is planning on graduating this spring with an Associate of Science. She is planning on attending CU Denver next year to pursue her career as an infectious disease specialist. Her kind soul is valued throughout the whole student body as she spends all of her free time helping tutoring others.

Eve suffers from CRPS, which stands for Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome. She describes it as, "my nervous system was rewired after an injury that occurred. I now feel constant burning pain throughout my legs, back, shoulders, and neck. This happens at all hours of the day whether I am sitting or standing, however, sitting does feel better."

She has been wheelchair-bound since freshman year (3 years ago) due to the fact whenever she would stand for too long her legs would give out under her causing her to fall. Even though she can stand a wheelchair is her only safe mode of transportation.

In recent months however her second-hand wheelchair has begun to fall apart under her. The wheels have little to no traction making it hard for her to turn or go forward easily. As well, random parts have begun to fall off. Overall the reality is that this wheelchair will not make it through the next few years.

That is why we as a student body are doing our best to send her off to college with a new wheelchair. With her living on her own next year the ability to move around safely and with ease is a top priority.
