Help Ernie (Rob) Mrachek regain his sight!

Dear Family, Facebook Friends, Colleagues and Associates,

I am Nancy, the sister of Ernest “Rob”     Mrachek, establishing a “Medical Go Fund Me” page on his behalf, as he continues to descend into the darkness of macular degeneration, first one eye, followed shortly by the other. Many of you will know of the horrors of this disease from your experience with family members and friends. Two years ago, he had cataracts removed and received multiple injections into his eyes to stem retinal bleeding that had clouded his vision.  As of this writing, his left eye has no vision at all; that eye is completely blind! His right eye has limited vision but it is very blurry and distorted.   

Ernie’s situation is this: he has lived and worked in Mexico for decades; his friends, life, and relationships are there.

He is now faced with the challenge of traveling to the US, seeking the assistance of renown low-vision specialist, Dr. Asman, of Maryland and Virginia, who treats people with macular degeneration. His website may be visited at https://lowvisionmd.org

The expenses Ernie/Rob will incur will total about $10,000, to be used for travel, exams, optics(lens/glasses),treatments and the completion of follow up exams.

If you are among those who feel strongly about charitable giving, we humbly ask your support in an effort to help my brother regain some eyesight, in so far as the treatments will allow. Rob is trapped due to his inability to see and go about his daily life.
