Help Erin Metastatic Melanoma Cancer
In July 2018, Erin was diagnosed with melanoma on her leg. After a successful surgery, the cancer was removed and she was healthy. Three years passed and she continued to get regular mole checks by her dermatologist. In January of 2021, she noticed a small bump on her collarbone. Her Doctors told her it was most likely a cyst but they had to biopsy it to be sure. When the results came back we were told that the cancer had returned. Following the biopsy she was given a CAT scan, which revealed that she had 8 tumours. She was officially diagnosed with Stage IIII Metastatic Melanoma. This diagnosis came as a complete surprise, as Erin has just turned 42 years old. Over the past few We are raising funds to help with the unexpected financial burden that cancer brings to a person. Our goal is to raise enough money that Erin can focus all of her energy on healing.
For those that do not know Erin personally, she is a longtime Whistler Local. She has lived in Whistler since 1999, raising her only daughter Felisha and owning a small business. Erin has been self-employed, operating her day spa, Eco Chic Spa, since 2009. Erin loves the Whistler community and is so grateful for any support.
To fight Stage IIII Metastatic Melanoma, Erin has been receiving Immunotherapy treatments. Immunotherapy is a drug treatment that uses the human body’s own immune system to fight cancer. The doctors are hoping the treatment will shrink her tumours, and cure her of the cancer. She is being treated by one of the top oncologist Dr. Sasha Smiljanic, of Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver. With recommendations from Dr. Sasha, Erin is also seeing a naturopath, Dr. Lemmo, who specializes in cancer patients. As well as a cancer acupuncturist, Gerard Tan. Her appointments are multiple times a week in Vancouver.

If anyone is interested in getting their moles checked, there is a clinic in Squamish that is accepting new patients. With a doctors referral note, you can book in with Dr. Gerhard Malherbe, of Lezara Laser & Vein Care, for a mole check and preventative care.
