Hello - MY NAME IS Eric Hanson and I am a native of Cleveland, OH. After booking bands across the country for over 30 years, I am moving back to my hometown to start THE TREELAWN, a world-class music hall featuring jazz, reggae, contemporary classical, and other genres. It will also feature a killer list of rotating craft draft beer plus signature cocktails. Plus I have a food partner from New Orleans who will bring the finest Cajun and Creole cuisine the North Coast has ever seen!

My experiences around the country as a booking agent and talent buyer have given me the inspiration to tackle this project. I have represented artists across several musical genres including Nina Simone, Stanley Clarke, Evan Dando and Sweet Honey in the Rock and have presented major acts from Joan Baez and Keith Sweat to Pat Metheny and Kenny G.

The plan is to establish a new space to complement the beacon of musical awesomeness known as the Beachland Ballroom, the eclectic rock/folk venue just down the street from the future home of The Treelawn, and further invigorate the Waterloo Arts & Entertainment District. Situated in North Collinwood near the Eastern border of Cleveland and less than a mile from the shores of Lake Erie, the District is continuing to develop as a headquarters for creativity and a meeting place for entertainment options that are unique to the area. In fact, the founder and co-owner of the Beachland Ballroom, Cindy Barber, is one of my partners in this venture. Her experience and local connections in the musical and political landscape will be invaluable to its success.

All my assets, material and intangible, will fuel this effort. And I have been blessed with some key investors to help with the launch. However, in order to establish and maintain an operation of the highest quality, which these musical artists and this city’s residents deserve, I am reaching out to seek additional financial support to make The Treelawn all it can be. Donated funds will contribute to everything from physical upgrades to equipment rental and purchases of supplies plus human resources and supplementing performance fees to help bring the best possible bands to The Land.

THE TREELAWN will be an independent, artist-centered live music venue coming soon to the Waterloo Arts & Entertainment District of Cleveland, OH. Its various seating configurations will allow for the comfortable accommodation of audiences ranging from 150 to 500. Its musical offerings will range from jazz to new classical, from reggae to blues, Latin and old-school R&B. It will also be a prime location for private events including corporate functions, birthday and anniversary celebrations and wedding receptions.
