Entela Leshica is a widowed single mother, daughter, and great woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer in late 2019. Entela has been raising her son on her own since he was fourteen months old, after her husband passed away. Entela has been active in her community here in Seattle and has demonstrated great compassion and strength. She graduated with a nursing degree in 2017. Her sacrifice and dedication to get her nursing degree came from the determination to create a better life for her son and her elderly mother, who she is also caring for.
On October 15, 2019, Entela was diagnosed with breast cancer, borderline between stage 2 and stage 3. This was a difficult time for her and her family as her son was starting his last year of middle school. Entela started her first round of chemo in November while still providing care for her mother and son, as well as continuing to work. As the chemotherapy treatment became more difficult to bear in January, she pushed on with determination. She was able to continue to work part-time as a nurse. However, when the global pandemic hit in March, Entela had to stop working due to the increased personal risk of COVID19 because of her compromised immune system from chemotherapy treatments. Since this time, she has not been able to work, leaving her with a growing pile of bills while fighting cancer during the pandemic. Entela had her first surgery on May 21, 2020, where she had a double mastectomy. She is scheduled to have a second surgery on June 17, 2020, to remove the axillary lymph nodes after finding out they are affected by cancer.
Entela needs your support for her medical expenses, bills, and rent. As her second surgery approaches Entela has uncertainty about her job future and her health insurance.
