Hi all!
My name is Enrique Zúñiga González. I'm an international student from Chile studying at Princeton University, and a member of the class of 2022!
As you may know, some students have been facing evictions from their universities. I was one of the lucky ones who got to stay in his dorm room. However, the academic year is ending soon, and staying on campus over the summer is not possible. Princeton is demanding I pay $2,300 to remain on campus —a sum that I, a first-generation, low income international student simply cannot afford.
The only option that Princeton University is offering its students, at the moment, is a combination of a loan and work study . Nevertheless, this would put my family in yet more hardship. Health-wise, staying in New Jersey could also be dangerous given its status as the second state with more COVID-19 cases.
Your contributions would help me afford airfare to Chile (SCL) and the personal protective equipment necessary to travel and quarantine myself once I arrive, as well as meals during the amount time I've got to wait for the flight, since airlines have reduced the number of flights to Chile.
