Help Enrique Trevino Fight His Battle With Cancer

In the early summer of 2017, around Enrique’s 34th birthday, he was experiencing debilitating stomach pains, which forced him to make several trips to the hospital. The doctors kept sending him home finding nothing wrong with the tests they had given him. That July, Enrique continued to suffer and decided to try another hospital. Upon his arrival, they gave him a colonoscopy and discovered a large tumor on his colon. The oncologists determined that the tumor was cancerous, and diagnosed it at Stage III from the onset. Hours later Enrique underwent immediate surgery to remove the tumor. The surgery was successful; however further testing detected some suspicious surrounding tissue revealing possible metastasis of which the doctors deemed necessary to closely monitor. After Enrique’s surgery wound healed, he began a vigorous chemotherapy journey, and radiation treatments aimed at destroying any cancer cells that may have spread.

In October of 2018, Enrique’s cancer had aggressively returned and had then spread to his intestines. The oncologist scheduled surgery for early January 2019 to remove the tumor in his small intestines as they were administering thermotherapy chemo to him for the first time. During the procedure, the surgeon discovered that the tumor was much larger than expected, and was intertwined inside Enrique’s intestines making it unable to be removed without harming his blood supply or creating other damage. The surgeon had no choice but to cease the surgery, as he deemed the tumor inoperable. Since then Enrique has resumed various chemotherapy treatments, in efforts to shrink the intestinal tumor down to a size that can safely be removed.

As you can imagine, the last of couple of years have been emotionally, physically, and financially draining for the Trevino family. Enrique is a wonderful father of 4 children, and an amazing husband to his wife of 18 years, Olga. Enrique is physically unable to work, he is restless, often in pain, and has the discomfort of using a feeding tube to help him hold weight down since it is difficult in his current condition of constant nausea. Most importantly, his illness has prevented him from being able to do some of the simplest tasks that he enjoyed doing with his family that most of us take for granted every day.

Through all of his pain and suffering, and his ups and downs, Enrique has stayed positive and strong. He has maintained a great sense of humor, and is strengthening his relationship with God. He has a powerful support system comprised of family and friends, and could really use some financial assistance to help with the burden of medical and other expenses during his battle. Enrique is a fighter, and with the emotional and financial support of his community he can get back on his feet and DOMINATE CANCER!
