Help Emma Kick Cancer's Butt!

Donation protected
Emma is a 23 year old woman who has FAP.  When Emma was 11 years old, she had her colon (large intestine) removed, due to pre-cancerous polyps.  When Emma was 18 years old, she won a battle against thyroid cancer.  In October 2017, Emma underwent a routine flex sigmoidoscopy, where a cancerous mass was found in her rectum.  After 2 MRIs, a CT scan and a PET scan, it was found that the lymph nodes in her cervical area were also cancerous.

Emma will begin chemo treatments on January 12, 2018.  The chemo treatment she will be receiving is called Folfax.  After her chemo treatments, she will be having surgery in the spring to remove the rectum.  One surgical option is called a jpouch procedure.  This is where the surgeon will remove the rectum and pull the small intestine to the sphincter and form a "J" for a holding area.  If this surgery is not a possibility due to several other factors, then Emma will have a permanent ileostomy.

Any money raised through this Fund will be used for Emma's living expenses, medical expenses and medical supplies, so that she can concentrate on getting better without financial stress.

Another way to help is to pray for a complete recovery for Emma.

A dinner fundraiser is also being held for Emma at the American Legion (18255 Grant Street, Lansing, Illinois) on Sunday, January 14th from 1:00 to 5:00. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time or at the door ($20.00).

Thank you for taking the time to read this and for any financial assistance and/or prayers that you can send.
