Hello everyone and thank you for taking a second to consider helping us. We are raising money to purchase a wheelchair accessible van for our daughter Emma.

She is 18 years old and uses a wheelchair full time. Emma was born with Spina Bifida, hydrocephalus, Arnold Chiari II Malformation, and Splitcord Malformation. God has brought Emma through 18 surgeries in her lifetime. No matter what life throws at her, she keeps a positive outlook and a smile. Bobby and I have always tried our hardest to keep her as independent as possible. A wheelchair accessible van will help with that.

Emma currently has a power wheelchair that she can only use at home because we have no way of getting it out and about. Her power wheelchair helps her to raise herself up to be eye level with other adults, takes the pressure off her joints in pushing herself in her manual wheelchair all the time, and allows her to raise her feet up to help with circulation.

A wheelchair accessible van cost between $30-40,000. And they are not deemed a medical necessity. So we are trying to raise the down payment for a van for Emma.
