Help Em Heal Her Heart

Our dear friend Emily has recently been diagnosed with a serious heart condition. Over the past couple of months, she has been repeatedly hospitalised for persistent cardiac episodes. Despite treatment with medication, she is still having episodes and it's greatly affecting her quality of life and ability to work.
Those of you who know this effervescent angel will also know her ongoing battle with chronic illness over the last few years. This has placed an enormous strain on her financially as she has worked tirelessly serving musicians while raising her bright, beautiful 11-year-old boy.
Em has always put her heart and soul into her work in the music industry. She is passionate about helping artists and we’re hoping that now some kind souls will contribute to her healing. She needs to focus entirely on getting well for several months.
We’ve known Em for almost 20 years and in that time have been blessed by her warmth, loyalty, kindness and seemingly boundless energy. Emily is facing down Long R-P tachycardia (a form of SVT), Atrial Flutter and a leaky valve. Her specialists have indicated this is likely due to a combination of ongoing life stressors and extreme depletion in conjunction with sleep apnea, a condition she has been earnestly attempting to treat, without success.
Those who know Em would be aware that she is extremely committed to her healthy lifestyle and was in the process of following doctor’s instructions to treat sleep apnea when she was hospitalised. Having a heart condition at such a young age came as a surprise. They also want to rule out pituitary and adrenal tumours with expensive MRI scans.
Em's already spent thousands of dollars on dental appliances (which aggravated the condition) and Septoplasty surgery to improve her breathing. Ironically it was this surgery which triggered the heart condition. While the sleep apnea continues unabated, it can continue to make the condition worse and put further stress on her heart.
The cardiologist has given her encouraging news. If the stress upon her heart is removed then there is a chance the condition can be reversed and she can avoid surgery which comes with risks. She has reached the limit of her financial capacity to continue the recommended treatments, which includes expensive appliances and equipment for sleep apnea, appointments with her doctor and specialists, IV iron transfusions and supplements to treat chronic depletion. She also needs to take some time off to recover without worrying about survival costs.
The pitfalls of self employment in the music industry are no superannuation, paid leave, or savings. Em is a single mum with very limited family support and has recently lost a large portion of her income due to COVID. Despite many years of health problems, she’s remained optimistic and positive, and been tenaciously committed to her healing journey.
It’s a tough time for people around the world, and Em feels awkward about asking for help at a time like this so we’re stepping in to represent her. She will be incredibly grateful for any support at all. Em is a fighter but she's run out of steam. Please help her return to being the best mum she can be and living a life free of constant trips to hospital and the debilitating impact this condition is having on her life.
