Help Helena’s Family

Helena is a loving, compassionate and lively twelve-year-old. On July 18, 2018, while visiting family in Spain, she was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. In the past weeks, she has had several bone marrow biopsies, spinal tap procedures and blood transfusions. Currently she is undergoing different rounds of chemotherapy, at Torrecárdenas Hospital in Spain, where she was asked to stay in order to not lose time treating her. As you can imagine, the next six to nine months will be unimaginably difficult for Helena and her family, as they are dealing with Helena’s treatment in Spain away from home in NYC.

Helena's parents, Lourdes and Francisco, also have a nine year-old, Mar. and and three-year old, who are unable to be at the hospital with them. Our family has come together to support each other during this challenging time, but there is only so much we can do on our own. The costs of dealing with this, medical bills, traveling, lodging, missing work as we were forced to stay for the most intensive part of the treatment in Spain, and a million other things, is overwhelming. We are asking for support from our friends and extended family to help alleviate some of the financial burden that Lourdes and Francisco will be facing during and after Helena's treatment. Any amount of money can help and in addition we ask for your prayers to help us all through this and to get Helena healthy again. We love you so much Helena!
