Help Brickroom’s chef recover after house fire

Hi there from all of us here at Brickroom restaurant in Ashland!

Functioning as one of the staple restaurants here in Ashland, we carry a reputation not only for our food and service, but also for the camaraderie and friendship among our staff, who often times appear more like family than coworkers.

Now, following through on that sentiment, we're reaching out to you, the public, to help one of our brothers out, Dylan Reames, our beloved Sous Chef, who has been with us from the very beginning.

On May 11, 2022, while he was gone for around 15 minutes, faulty wiring sparked a fire which engulfed nearly everything in Dylan's home. Inside were his two cats, Mimi and Robby, who Dylan loved unconditionally, and many pieces of irreplaceable art which he had poured hours of love and passion into creating, along with nearly every belonging in his name.

Dylan's home is literally right next door to Brickroom, which allowed our manager the opportunity to break in, and try to save his cats. Despite this, and firemen's efforts, only one cat was rescued from the blaze, and his home has now been deemed uninhabitable. He had no renter's insurance, and as of now, is in a state of limbo.

For any one of us who have ever been lucky enough to have an animal of our own, we know they are essentially a child and best friend. Now, Dylan has lost not only his home and belongings, but this as well.

Over the past few months, Dylan has faced numerous challenges and triumphed over them with a smile on his face, but this truly takes the cake. Surely he'll bounce back from this as well, but in the meantime, this is an opportunity for us as a community to come together and show appreciation for a man who has impacted us through his work and kindness. So please, join us as we rally together to help our friend and brother, Dylan Reames, to get back on his feet and start moving forward again.
